The Department of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering provides specialized information on Irrigation Water Management, pressurized irrigation systems, optimization of resources to strengthen water facilities at farmer’s fields and the State as a whole. The Department has highly specialized faculty members who impart this education at the under graduate, post graduate and Ph. D levels. The department has successfully executed several projects sponsored by the Indian Space Research Organization, Central Water Commission and Uttar Pradesh Government . Presently the Department is working upon ISRO sponsored project , “Assessment of Spatial and Temporal Variation of Water Quality in River Ganga using Remote Sensing Techniques”. Faculty is involved in enhancing water use efficiency at the Irrigation Research Station. It has developed technologies in pressurized irrigation for the entire region.
