Undergraduate Courses
The U.G. courses consist of Core, Discipline Specific/Elective and Generic Elective. The Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) & Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) are mandatory. The Generic Elective (GE) Course is chosen generally from an unrelated discipline/subject. The Core, DSE and GE Courses are of 5 credits each: Lecture 3 +1 (Reading report/Paper presentation + 1 tutorial per week. AEC & SEC courses are of 3 credits: Lecture 2 + 1 for Tutorial. One can offer the extended essay instead of one Paper. Interdisciplinary perspective, continuous assessment and vocational formation are an integral part of learning process. It consists of orientation, counseling, supervised weekend ministry in Yeshu Darbar, Chapel, Preaching engagements in morning chapel, leading devotions in Yeshu Darbar on weekdays, service in ‘Rein Basera’ on week-ends, and summer vacation ministry in the home churches/related charitable organizations. A student is expected to submit a Reflective Report.

Bachelor of Arts is a three-year (six semesters) degree programme which is broad and flexible with the option of studying Theology with general History/Psychology/English Literature/Sociology.

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) is a three years (six semesters) degree programme with option of studying Honours in Theology with general History/Psychology/English Literature/Sociology.

Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.) is a five years (10 semesters) degree programme specially designed for Priests to inculcate a sense of commitment to serve in the church following the footsteps of Jesus Christ. Eligibilty: Intermediate (10+2 Passed). The duration for BD candidate with undergraduate degree in any discipline is Four Years and Three Years for B.Th candidate with 60% marks.
Post-Graduate
The Master of Arts/Master of Theology in Old Testament/New Testament/ Christian Theology/ Christian Ethics/ Religions/History of Christianity/Missiology/Christian Ministry/Christian Education/Counselling/Communication is of two years (four semesters) duration. The Core Courses consist of Research Methodology, Biblical Interpretation: Methods & Perspectives, Science & Religion and Mission-Ministry with option of choosing Discipline Specific courses. The Post-graduate studies consist of 45 credits course work and 25 credits research. Eligibility: Bachelor of Divinity/Bachelor of Arts(Hons) in Theology/M.Div with a Bachelor Degree from a recognized University.
Ph.D. Theology
One can pursue research leading to Ph.D. Theology in Old Testament/New Testament/ Christian Theology/ Christian Ethics/ Religions/ History of Christianity/Missiology/Christian Ministry/Christian Education/Counselling/ Communication. The Ph.D. course work consists of minimum 20 credits and thesis 55 credits. More credits for course work may be offered on the recommendation of the Student Advisory Committee of a particular student depending on the academic background of the student and requirement of prerequisite/deficiency courses for research. The duration of the program is a minimum of three years (six semesters) and a maximum of six years (twelve semesters), including course work. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the University rules.
The Undergraduate, Post-graduate studies and Doctoral research offered through GPIT in residence is full-fledged. However, there is a call for studying theology from home and to enhance vocational aptitude for meaningful engagement while working. Therefore, the GPIT proposes to offer ‘Theological Studies Online’ with total flexibility. One is welcome to study from any location with a flexible route to a University Certificate/Diploma/Degree/Post- Graduate Diploma as the case may be.
